New Chapter of NJAHS by Peter Curran

NJAHS slip.jpg

Starting Tuesday, September 3rd, our new 8th grade lunch group will start recruiting members. The impetus for the new group is the annual drop-off in art club attendance for 8th graders. I have been told that the high, frenetic energy of 6th grade art club attendees can be a bit much for our 8th graders. To meet this need for a calmer, more grounded experience, we’ll begin meeting during 8th grade lunch on C Days.

Some areas for exploration will be community-based arts activities, field trips, and connecting with our WHS counterparts.

Recent works by our town's middle school art students will be on view throughout the month of February. This mixed-media exhibition showcases a collection of vibrant and personal work by Wayland's 6th, 7th and 8th graders, illustrating both their unique approach to creative challenges, as well as their interest in a wide range of subject matter, materials and techniques.
